Picnic Shelters

We’re adding new accessible picnic tables and grills to several picnic shelters throughout the park system. Work continues on installation of new concrete grill pads and securing picnic tables in arrangements that allow for unobstructed movement around them. Picnic shelter rental information will be updated on our website as changes are made.

Golf Cart

An accessible golf cart is available, when playing a round, at the Willow Metropark golf course. Reservations can be made by calling the course at 734-753-4040, a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Hike-Bike Trail

The paved, relatively flat Hike-Bike Trail is at Willow Metropark is park of Michigan’s Iron Belle Trail. The bicycle repair station located at the trailhead near Washago Pond can double as wheelchair repair station.

Dogs are allowed on the trail, but must be on a 6-foot leash at all times.

Located near the pool, this large, fenced-in playground has areas for kids ages 2-5 and 5-12.  Playground features include tot and belt swings, spinners, rockers, slides, platforms, bridges, and climbing structures. Equipment is on a combination of poured-in-place rubber surfacing and engineered wood fiber (wood mulch) safety surfacing.

The pool area has a zero depth entry and stairs with railings that lead to the family/two-person water slide.  A portable pool lift is available. Large umbrellas provide shade on the concrete deck area surrounding the pool.

An accessible golf cart is available at the Willow Metropark golf course.
