Once in a Blue Moon – they don’t come around very often, so we’re taking a step back in time. Come party like it’s 1999 with us and The Persuasion Band. Dress in your 90s and early 2000s best for a night of live (early 2000s) Pop music under the stars at Kensington Metropark.

You only get this opportunity once in a Blue Moon, so let’s do it up! There will be a “Best Dressed” contest on the stage, and the winners will get bragging rights and prizes. Then you can grab a glow stick and dance the night away. The Persuasion Band will take the stage at 8 p.m., and your encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.

As the sky darkens, we will feature a live astronomy presentation and Blue Moon telescope viewing opportunities with our partners at the Warren Astronomical Society and Oakland Astronomy Club.

There will be food trucks and drink vendors available throughout the event. A full event schedule is coming soon.

Pre-registration is not required.

Time: 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. Concert starts at 8 p.m. followed by star viewing.
Cost: The concert and activities are free, but food and drinks are a separate cost. A Metroparks daily or annual vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark.
