Canoeing & Kayaking
Rapids View launch site and picnic area is equipped with new upper parking lot and designated trailer parking spaces, a turnaround drop-off for paddlers, overall launch renovations including accessibility features, picnic area and river overlook renovations, and more for visitors to enjoy.
An accessible golf cart is available when playing a round at the Hudson Mills Metropark golf course. Reservations can be made by calling the course, 734-426-0466, a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
The paved Hike-Bike Trail at Hudson Mills Metropark is also part of Michigan’s Iron Belle Trail and Washtenaw County’s Border-to-Border Trail. The 3-mile loop has a few small hills and two bridge crossings. Dogs are allowed on the trails, but must be on a 6-foot leash at all times.

Traverse the 2-mile aggregate Acorn Nature Trail with minimal elevation changes year-round. Pets, bicycles, and running on the trail is prohibited.

We’re adding new accessible picnic tables and grills to several picnic shelters throughout the park system. Work continues on installation of new concrete grill pads and securing picnic tables in arrangements that allow for unobstructed movement around them. Picnic shelter rental information will be updated on our website as changes are made.
The playground located near the Activity Center has play areas for kids ages 2-5 and 5-12. All equipment is on engineered wood fiber (wood mulch) safety surfacing. Playground features include tot swings, belt swings, spring rockers, climbing structures and transfer stations. A crawl through tunnel and natural rock features are located in the adjacent turf area. Benches are located around the play area.
