WORKING AT THE METROPARKS
Where will you find the most diverse array of job descriptions in Southeast Michigan? That’s right, here at the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Where our staff includes engineering, operations, planning, resources management, accounting and finance, information technologies, human resources, marketing, maintenance, volunteering, grant writing, interpretive services – and even our own police department. There’s something for just about any background at the Metroparks.
And if you’re not looking for full-time, year-round work, we also make a whole bunch of seasonal jobs available every spring and summer to help us get through the warm weather season.
So, if you’re a student – or teacher – who wants to fill up your summer or a retiree interested in extra cash or someone just looking for a change of scenery … we have great seasonal positions available. Lifeguards, golf course attendants, toll booth attendants, maintenance crew and more. The Metroparks are the best summer job you can find.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION
At the Huron-Clinton Metroparks, we’re here to serve all the people of Southeast Michigan. Every community, every group. Which is why building a Metroparks team that reflects the wonderful diversity of our region is so vitally important … to our ability to meet the needs of those diverse communities and steward the Metroparks for future generations.
It’s also why we’ve launched a comprehensive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative. We’re taking an active role in engaging our internal team and stakeholders across Southeast Michigan to identify ways the Metroparks can make better and faster progress against those measures.
Our goal is to be the best stewards not only of our parks system, but of the public trust. A critical part of earning and keeping that trust is becoming a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization. We understand this is a journey that requires conversation, collaboration and an openness to change – which isn’t always comfortable for everyone. But we’re committed to making that journey. And helping make a better Southeast Michigan for all.
