Calling All Owls
‘Whooo’ is hiding in the woods? Owls, of course! With the help of mounted specimens and recorded calls, we’ll familiarize ourselves with the owl species common to Southeast Michigan. We’ll discover their survival strategies and use some hands-on demonstrations to highlight the incredible adaptations of these nocturnal birds of prey. Then we’ll embark on an hour-long guided moonlit stroll along a nature trail to search for owls and other nocturnal creatures in the park. Bring a flashlight but be prepared to walk in the dark. What to expect: Ages: 8 and up Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program. To register, CLICK HERE. |
