New Metroparks Purchasing Policy – January 1, 2021

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks Board of Commissioners adopted changes to our purchasing policy to now include a local preference as well as bid/quote comparison discounts for vendors and contractors who have implemented a diversity, equity and inclusion plan and/or who pay all employees a living wage of $15 or more per hour. The local preference applies to vendors located within the five county Metroparks service region that includes Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne counties. You do not have to be a local vendor to qualify for the other bid/quote comparison discounts.

Below is a link to download our Vendor Verification Form that we are requesting all vendors and contractors complete for our files. You will only have to complete this form once. These forms will be kept on file with the Metroparks. Providing this information to us is completely OPTIONAL, and you will still be able to provide bids/quotes to the Metroparks even if you choose not to provide this information.

If you choose not to provide this information, we do still ask that you please check the box and sign the bottom of the verification form acknowledging that you have seen the form and chosen not to provide the additional information.

When you complete the form, you can return the form and any additional attachments to bids@metroparks.com or by mailing it to Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority, ATTN: Purchasing Department, 13000 High Ridge Drive, Brighton MI 48114.

Completing the information and supplying the supporting documentation will result in bid comparison discounts being applied to your bids/quotes as outlined in the Vendor Verification Form. These bid comparison discounts do not change the amount the Metroparks would pay you, but rather make your submitted bids/quotes more competitive.
