Movies in Your Metroparks

Grab your family and friends for a movie at your Metroparks. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and find a spot to view the movie. Be sure to pack your snacks and drinks or picnic dinner! The movies are FREE, but a Metroparks daily or annual pass is required to enter the park.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on social media and the website. Movies will not be rescheduled.

Hudson Mills Metropark Activity Center Area

Saturday, June 10

Join us for the movie The Croods: A New Age. Arrive early to pick your viewing spot and then before the movie starts enjoy the paved park trails, play on the playground, or take in the views of the river. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end.

Kensington Metropark

Friday, August 4

Join us for the movie Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Arrive early to pick your viewing spot and then before the movie starts enjoy the paved park trails, play on the playground, or take in the views of the lake. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end.

Join us for the first of three different movie nights at Stony Creek. This drive-in style movie for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish has space in the front for blankets and chairs too.

The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end.

Movies in Detroit

New Center Park – Friday, June 16

Join us for an outdoor movie at New Center Park! Bring your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy a night out with friends or make it a fun date night to see cult comedy, The Breakfast Club. Enjoy Detroit’s own DJ Chandlera spinning 80s music before the movie. Concessions will be available for sale, including beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages and a food truck will also be on-site from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Gabriel Richard Park – Thursday, August 3

Join us for an outdoor movie along the beautiful Detroit Riverfront! At Gabriel Richard Park, bring your lawn chairs or blanket, snacks and drinks and enjoy Wakanda Forever under the stars. This movie in the park is held in collaboration with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.

Pre-registration is not required.

Ages: Fun for all ages!
