Overview

The Metroparks offer a variety of winter of activities such as snowshoeing, sledding, fat-tire mountain biking, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and much more. All activities are available conditions permitting. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at (810) 227-2757.

Cross-Country Skiing

Our ski trails are open daily weather permitting. Please use marked ski trails only. Huron Meadows Metropark offers a 1.5-mile loop, Bucks Run, made from snow shot from our snow guns. The trail is lighted at night and open even if there isn’t much snow! Huron Meadows Metropark also offers Classic and Skate-Style skiing.

Hike-Bike Trails, Nature/Rustic Trails, and Snowshoeing

Many of our paved hike-bike and traditional nature/rustic trails are open year-round. Refer to the Winter Activity Maps for more information.


Ice Fishing

Ice fishing offers opportunities to catch bluegill, black crappies, yellow perch and the occasional northern pike. Refer to the Winter Activity Maps or the links below for more information.


Ice Skating/Ice Hockey

Ice skating is offered at many of the Metroparks. Warming shelters and heated restrooms are also available. Refer to the Winter Activity Maps or the links below for more information.


Mountain Biking

Fat-tire mountain biking is available on the Trolley Trails at Stony Creek Metropark. Refer to the Winter Activity Maps or the links below for more information.


Sledding, Snowboarding, and Tobogganing

A classic winter activity is sledding and it is available at most Metroparks. Refer to the Winter Activity Maps or the links below for more information.
