Your Metroparks, Your Stories.

Last year, I discovered the Metroparks Trail Challenge a bit late in the season. Although I didn’t get to cross the official finish line by finishing every park, the journey itself was a massive win. Exploring so many beautiful, diverse parks challenged me to push my limits, test my distance, and fall in love with the quiet peace of the woods.
This year, I was ready. I signed up the moment the challenge was released, but my motivation runs much deeper than just checking trails off a list.
Recently, I went through a incredibly difficult time after suffering a miscarriage. Anyone who has walked that path knows how easy it is to sink into a dark, heavy depression. Getting outside has been my lifeline. The quiet of the trails helps quiet my mind, giving me a safe space to process, breathe, and heal.
Even more special? This year, I have my dog by my side for every single mile. Having my furry trail partner there to share the path, sniffing the leaves, chasing the sights, and just keeping me grounded in the present moment, makes this challenge feel less like an exercise goal and more like a journey of recovery.
I’m so grateful to the Metroparks for giving us a reason to get outside, clear our heads, and find our footing again. Here’s to a new season, fresh starts, and many more miles together!
