Your Metroparks, Your Stories.

Stony Creek has basically been in our backyard since moving to Romeo 8 years ago, but we really got to know it and all the Metroparks after signing up for our first Metropark Trail Challenge in 2025.
Signing up started as a motivator to get some hiking conditioning in before our trip to Isle Royale National Park last June, and lead to us realizing all the great hiking we have within an hour radius.
It was fun experiencing each park’s unique character, spotting all kinds of birds especially during migration, counting deer, and watching my husband jump every time he came across a garter snake (I think he managed to find one at just about every park).
Trails are well maintained, have a pick your own adventure element, and simply make you one with nature. We are so fortunate to have the Metropark system and are looking forward to earning our 2027 annual pass after another successful trail hike challenge!
