River Day: Creek Wading

Wear your water shoes to step into Stony Creek and discover the small animals that live beneath the surface. Underneath the stony creek bottom, a whole diverse world awaits. Explore how these tiny animals indicate to us if our water is healthy or not, their strategies for surviving and thriving, and how important they are to the ecology of the park.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outside. We will take a short hike down a hill to enter the stream. The stream is very rocky, with some slick spots
Water shoes are required to enter the stream. No flipflops or clogs. Please wear clothing you can get wet! The planned path surface is gravel and occasionally steep.

Ages: 6 and up. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Time: 1 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult
Location: Stony Creek Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
