Metroparks Seeking Online Public Input for New Playground at Lower Huron Metropark

The Huron-Clinton Metroparks is developing a brand new playground at Lower Huron Metropark near the Woods Creek South picnic shelter. The playground is slated for construction during the summer of 2021 and is currently in the pre-design stage.

Just a 20-30 minute drive from the city of Detroit, this new playground will provide a unique and exciting play experience for the surrounding local communities as well as those driving a little further. The Metroparks want to make sure this new project meets the needs of the communities that will use it and is looking for public input using a brief online survey.

The public can access the survey until Monday, November 23.

About Lower Huron Metropark: 1,258 acres of mature woodlands, grassy meadows, and the scenic Huron River. Run, walk, bike or inline skate along a paved, hike-bike Iron-Belle trail that connects Lower Huron, Willow and Oakwoods Metroparks with additional connector trails into neighboring communities. Shoreline fish or paddle along the river, as you observe swans or geese floating on the water. In the summer, coast down a water slide or drift along the lazy river at the Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center. Lower Huron Metropark also offers scenic picnic areas, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts. Come for a few hours or stay for the day.
