PARK CLOSURES

If you’re planning a visit to your Huron-Clinton Metroparks, it’s always a good idea to know-before-you-go. Check the park information below for any closures you should expect during your visit.

Delhi Metropark – Open daily 8 am – 8 pm

Skip’s Canoe Livery is closed for the season.  For information regarding Skip’s please visit their website at http://paddlethehuron.com.

West Delhi Parking Area – Closed between October 31 and April 1

The portage area around the Flook Dam at Portage Lake will be closed for the remainder of the year.  If you have any questions regarding this closure please contact the Washtenaw County Water Resources at 734-222-6860.

 

Dexter-Huron Metropark – Open daily 8 am – 8 pm

Hudson Mills Metropark – Open daily 7 am – 8 pm

Park Office – Open 7 days a week, 8 am – 4 pm.

Disc Golf – Open daily during park hours.

Cross Country Ski Trails Condition – Not available at this time.

Golf Course –Stay tuned for more information about opening day for 2026. 

Please do not use the ski trails or the golf course as hiking trails.  Please only use designated hiking trails inside the park.

Huron Meadows Metropark – Park is open from 7 am to 8 pm daily.

Cross Country Ski Center –  Due to the weather and Bucks Run trail conditions the ski center will be closed for the season.  Thank you for a great one!

Golf Course   Stay tuned for more information about opening day for 2026. 

Please do not use the golf course cart path as a hiking trail.  Please walk on designated hiking trails only.

Rustic Hike/Nature Trails – The Moraine Fen trail is closed indefinitely between mile marker 34 and 35 due to trail conditions.

Park Office – Open daily 9 am – 3 pm.

Environmental Discovery Center Open daily 9 am – 5 pm.

Golf Course Open daily. Tee times can be booked online at: https://golf.metroparks.com/tee-times/

Spray ‘n’ Play Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 11 am – 7 pm daily. Free of charge.

Sledding Hill – Open, weather permitting.

Cross County Skiing –All trails groomed on 12/11/2025.

Please be advised the hike-bike trail (wooden boardwalk adjacent to I-96 on ramp) is closed between blue mile markers 7 and 7.25 if going clockwise, and brown mile markers 7.5 and 7.75 if going counterclockwise. This portion of the trail will be closed until further notice.

Kensington Metropark Winter Activity Conditions – Updated 3/7/2026

Sledding Hill:  CLOSED

Toboggan Run: CLOSED INDEFINITELY

Cross Country Ski Rentals: Closed For season.

Kensington Ski Center will not be open this Saturday and Sunday (3/7 & 3/8) due to current and expected trail conditions.

Cross Country Ski Trails Last Groomed:  All trails last groomed on 2/07/26. Golf course groomed 2/09/26.

Kensington Park Office: Open daily from 8am-6pm.

Kensington Farm Center: Open daily from 9am-4pm.  Hayrides  by tractor open Saturday 3/7/2026 and Sunday 3/08/2026 weather permitting. Noon to 4pm. Maple Syrup demonstrations 11-2 Saturday and Sunday.

**Our Farm Center Office and bathrooms will be closed until further notice.**

Kensington Nature Center: Monday from 1pm-5pm and Tuesday-Sunday from 10am-5pm.

Kensington Farm Grill:   Open in March. Monday -Friday 10am-3:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm.

Bike Rentals: The Bike rental station will return in Spring 2026.

Splash ‘N’ Blast: Closed for the season.

Boat rental and Island Queen: Closed for the season

Kensington Golf Course: Closed for the season

Lake Erie Metropark Wave Pool: The Great Wave Pool and Food Bar will be CLOSED for repairs for the 2025 season.

Lake Erie Bike/Hike Path: OPEN

Lake Erie Sledding Hills: CLOSED

Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course: OPEN

 

Lake St. Clair Metropark Activity Conditions:

Tawata Trace Trails and Off Leash Dog Area: Closed; Coming Spring 2026 [updated 03/01/26] We are excited for this new feature of the park, please have patience while we await for grass to grow in from fall hydroseed.

Lower Huron Metropark Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center: Closed for the season. See you in 2026!

Group Camp: Closed for the season. See you in Spring 2026!

**Walnut Grove Campground will Open Friday, May 1 through mid October, 2026: Reservations are now live! We are excited to offer an updated campground including ADA accessibility, water and electric hookups and other landscaping improvements. This project was funded in part by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Stony Creek Metropark: Open 7:00 am – 8:00 pm, Gates Close at 7:00 pm.

Stony Creek Golf Course:  CLOSED FOR THE SEASON

Stony Creek Nature Center: Monday-Friday 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Wolcott Farm Center – Open 9am-5pm daily.

Wolcott Mill – Building closed but trails are open.

North Branch Trails – Open from dawn until dusk. Weather permitting based on water levels.

FYI – Natural Resources Department is beginning restoration of the North Branch Trails through prescribed burning this spring. Immediately after burning, we will spread native prairie seeds throughout the area to encourage pollinator-friendly species. Future work may include treating invasive species and repeated prescribed burning every three or so years.
