I’ve been coming to Kensington since the 70’s, when we used to skip school to hit the beach. Now I enjoy birding and geocaching along the nature trails. It’s a magical place! This is also my first year to do the Trail Challenge, along with my two sisters. I enjoy visiting Kensington, as a beginning birder I have found it is a great place to see many kinds of birds close up. Once I was hiking one of the nature trails and looked up to see something big coming down the trail toward me. As it got closer and then landed right by me, I realized it was a sand hill crane. I laughed at myself because at first I thought it was some kind of remote-controlled plane. Those birds are huge! -Chris J.
