Your Metroparks, Your Stories.

My day did not start the way I wanted it to. The plan was to get up early and visit a few of the metro parks that are a pretty far from me. I got up late, fell behind in chores and then hit traffic and construction on the way out to the parks. I finally made it to the first park hours after I had planned to, and I was in a mood. I stopped on of the bridges at the Dexter-Huron Park to look out over the water and a Baltimore Oriole flew over, landing on the tree right above me. I had a clear view as the bird hopped about the branches. Looking down into the marshy area, I saw a muskrat waddling about alongside a pair of mallards preening each other. A jumping spider came scuttling out from one of the beams on the bridge and scurried right up to me as if to say hello. The day might not have started off the way I planned, but in that moment it didn’t matter. I was in the park, and I am so grateful to have 14 amazing parks to choose from for each adventure.
