Movies in Your Metroparks

Grab your family and friends for a movie at your Metroparks. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and find a spot to view the movie. Be sure to pack your snacks and drinks or picnic dinner! The movies are FREE, but a Metroparks daily or annual pass is required to enter the park.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on social media and the website. Movies will not be rescheduled.

Hudson Mills Metropark

Saturday, June 8

Join us for an outdoor showing of the movie Migration. Pack up the family, lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray and movie snacks for a great night. After you pick your spot to view the movie, enjoy the paved trails, play on the playground, or take in the views of the river. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end.

Ages: Fun for all ages!
Time: Parking opens at 6 p.m. Movie starts at 7 p.m.

Kensington Metropark

Saturday, August 2

Join us for an outdoor showing of the movie Wonka. Pack up the family, lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray and movie snacks for a great night under the stars. After you pick your spot to view the movie, Wonka, enjoy the accessible playground, splash in Kent Lake, or take a walk on the Hike-Bike Trail. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end.

Lower Huron Metropark

Saturday, August 24

Join us for a fun outdoor showing of the movie Migration. Pack up the family, lawn chairs and blankets, bug spray and movie snacks for a great night under the stars. Van Buren Parks and Recreation Department will join us for crafts and games beginning at 6 p.m. After you pick your spot to view the movie, enjoy the park trails, play on the playground, or shoot some hoops. For campers staying overnight at the Walnut Grove Campground, there will be an illuminated path guiding you back to your site after the movie.

Stony Creek Metropark

We invite you to bring your family and friends for a movie under the stars on our massive 40-foot wide and 20-foot tall movie screen, featuring premium sound and 8k projection! You can choose to watch our showings “drive-in” style or cozy up in your lawn chair or on a blanket and sit in the front row section for the best outdoor movie experience possible.

Movies in Detroit

360 Park

In partnership with 360 Detroit, join us for an outdoor movie series this summer at 360 Park! Pack up the family, lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray and movie snacks for a great time. There will be four movies throughout the summer, the first three movies will feature a costume contest. Movies will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end. Popcorn will be provided! Registration is required.

Movie Dates:

  • Saturday, June 22 at 3 p.m. – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
    • Dress up as your favorite superhero
  • Saturday, July 20 at 3 p.m. – Elemental
    • Dress up as your favorite cartoon character
  • Saturday, August 24 at 3 p.m. – Kung Fu Panda 4
    • Dress up as your favorite athlete or sports figure
  • Saturday, September 14 at 8 p.m. – Daddy Day Camp
