Movies in Your Metroparks

Grab your family and friends for a movie at your Metroparks. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and find a spot to view the movie. Be sure to pack your snacks and drinks or picnic dinner! The movies are FREE, but a Metroparks daily or annual pass is required to enter the park.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on social media and the website. Movies will not be rescheduled.

Hudson Mills Metropark

Saturday, June 7

Join us for an outdoor movie at your Metroparks. Pack up the family, lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray and movie snacks for a great night. After you pick your spot to view the movie, enjoy the paved trails, play on the playground, or take in the views of the river. The movie will be shown on an LED screen and start before dark – so even the little ones might make it to the end. Open Season will be the movie shown.

Ages: Fun for all ages!
Time: Parking opens at 6 p.m. Movie starts at 7 p.m.

Kensington Metropark

Friday, August8

Enjoy a film at Kensington Metropark’s beautiful Maple Beach! A live stream of The Wild Robot will begin at 7:30 p.m. on a bright LED screen. Bring your family, lawn chairs, blankets, bug spray, and movie snacks for a memorable evening. Before the movie starts, explore the accessible playground, splash in Kent Lake, or take a walk on the Hike-Bike Trail.

Time: Movie Starts 7:30 p.m.

Lower Huron Metropark

Saturday, August 9

Join us for a fun outdoor movie and crafts at your Metroparks. Pack up the family, lawn chairs and blankets, bug spray and movie snacks for a great night under the stars. Van Buren Parks and Recreation Department will join us for crafts and games beginning at 6 p.m. After you pick your spot to view the movie, The Wild Robot, enjoy the park trails, play on the playground, or shoot some hoops.

Time: Parking and crafts 6 p.m., Movie 7 p.m.

Movies in Detroit

Milliken State Park – Tuesday, May 20

In partnership with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, join us for an evening outdoors at Milliken State Park as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month for the animated movie, Inside Out, on the big screen. Before the movie begins visit the community tables for info and giveaways.

So, grab your blanket, lawn chair, snack and drinks for a summer movie night! Free popcorn for the first 100 guests. Free parking is available in the lot at Cullen Plaza..
