Bird Language Workshop

Register HERE

Birds are the eyes and ears of the forest. Join us to learn their different voices, and you’ll uncover the secret movements of the forest—when the fox prowls, where the owl roosts, when the Cooper’s hawk soars through the canopy, and where your neighbor’s cat sneaks around the neighborhood. Best of all, by truly understanding the voices of the birds, you’ll gain the skills to move silently through the woods and experience even more wildlife. No experience is necessary, but even seasoned birders may find this workshop takes their skills to the next level!

What to Expect:

This program starts indoors and ends outdoors. Time will be spent on a leisurely walk with frequent stops. Our walk will be up to ½ miles, will be a round-trip, and will conclude at the Kensington Nature Center. The path is dirt and gravel and mostly flat and level, and we’ll also be on grass and lawn. No prior experience is necessary, and a group interactivity or game with instructions will be involved.

Ages: 8 and up.

Time: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Cost: $3 per child, $5 per adult

Location: Kensington Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
