Program Description:

Using mounted specimens, we’ll investigate the various unique and unusual adaptations that birds rely on to survive in their different habitats. Based on their observations, students will work together in small groups to design a bird for a specific habitat. Each group will then present the evidence for why their bird is best adapted to thrive in its home. During the presentation, a visit with Ranger, our live redtailed hawk, will demonstrate the unique adaptations specific to birds of prey.
