Sensory-Friendly Halloween at the Nature Center

Families and children who prefer a calmer and not-so-spooky Halloween can join the Nature Center staff for our sensory-friendly event. We will decorate pumpkins, meet an animal from the Nature Center, and enjoy a quiet fall nature walk. Additional accommodations may be made by contacting the Nature Center. Costumes are welcome and encouraged!

What to Expect:
Participants can expect to be indoors for the first half of the program and outdoors for the second half. Craft materials used will be low-odor and limited in mess and clutter. The Nature Center will have a designated calming space with low light available to use. All activities during the program are optional, and children are encouraged to participate when comfortable to do so.

Ages: Children ages 6-10. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Time: 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $5 per child, accompanying adults are free.
Location: Lake St. Clair Metropark, Nature Center

Pre-registration is required by 4 p.m. the day before the program.
