The Metropark Trails have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Many great conversations were had on the trail to the point at Lake Saint Clair (formerly known as Metro Beach). The trails have provided me with a safe place to walk and run that I can count on for safety and comfort. I love how the hike/bike trails are well maintained and monitored and have open and clean bathrooms throughout the year.
I have completed the trail challenge every year that it was offered. My favorite thing about the challenge is that it allowed me to explore parks that were further away from me as well as trails that I have not yet discovered on the more frequently visited parks.
My husband and I have had many milestone runs at the parks. This summer, we incorporated our long runs into the trail challenge which expanded our adventures even further. For instance, we ran from Willow to Lower Huron and it was a great experience to experience both parks that way. Our favorite place to run though is the Kensington Loop.
Being in nature is very important to us and gives us our peace and tranquility that we need. The trees, flowers, lakes, rivers and streams beckon us and we would visit every day if we could. It is always a wonderful day when we share our times with the animals.
I am sure that we have many more
Miles of adventures on the Metroparks that await us.
I made a little video that I will include of environs and animals that I have photographed or recorded. Music is called “Traces of Tomorrow” by Citizen Music.
