As a teenager, I really enjoyed visiting the Kensington Nature Center and seeing the wildlife. As a young adult, I served as a volunteer naturalist and counted wing flaps for the Osprey chicks, served as a crossing guard for a Rattlesnake, helped with programs, or maintained the trails. I regularly brought my own family here to participate in programs, build nesting boxes, and nurture their appreciation for nature. During her butterfly themed birthday party, my daughter was able to release a luna moth which was amazing! Later in life, I would bring friends to show them how amazing it can be to share the trails with the wildlife. Now that I have retired, I have returned to volunteering at the Kensington Nature Center. Stop by and say “hello”, so we can share stories.
