Your Metroparks, Your Stories.

The Metroparks Trail Challenge has become much more than a checklist of trails for me. It has given me a reason to explore new places, spend more time outdoors, and reconnect with the things I enjoy most… nature, wildlife, and photography.

As someone who loves photographing birds and wildlife, every trail offers something different. Some days I find a new bird species, other days it’s a beautiful sunrise or sunset, wildflowers in bloom, or simply the peace and quiet that comes from being surrounded by nature. The challenge has encouraged me to slow down, look closer, and appreciate the incredible natural resources we have right here in Southeast Michigan.

One of my favorite parts of the Trail Challenge has been discovering parks and trails that I might never have visited otherwise. Each location has its own unique beauty and reminds me that adventure doesn’t always require traveling far from home, although some of the parks I’ll be visiting are quite far. I’m really excited to visit these parks I’ve never seen.

Whether I’m carrying my camera in search of eagles, watching songbirds along a wooded trail, riding my bike, or simply enjoying a walk outdoors, the Metroparks provide a place to recharge and escape the demands of everyday life.

I’m grateful for this opportunity to participate in the Trail Challenge.
