A long ago story! In the 1970’s my dad bought a sailboat, a Hobie 14, and we would take it to Kensington to sail. We were novices. So trailering the boat, rigging it, then putting it into the water was an event. While my dad, sister and brother worked on that, my mom would go over to the beach and set up our picnic. The rest of us would get the boat in the water and sail to the beach, where we would land the boat just outside of the beach area, and enjoy our picnic. We sailed the boat in all kinds of weather. We later got a Sunfish and brought that to Kensington as well. We all learned to sail on Kent Lake. My dad would we pleased to know we still sail those same boats 50 years later! -Melanie
