Several years ago I had just stopped working to be a stay at home mom with 2 young kids. I was feeling lost and in need of something to do and decided to take the kids for a hike at Lower Huron. On this hike we ran into a group of families with kids who met weekly to hike. This group has been everything to me the past few years and our weekly hikes. We meet at different locations and metroparks each week. We attend metropark events together and nature center classes. We play at the playgrounds. As the kids have got older we’ve added the metropark pools to our list of activities. The parks provide so many activities for us to explore and as homeschool families we appreciate all the parks have to offer us for educational experiences.
