I couldn’t pick a topic because they all have memories. I’ve been going to the Metroparks my whole life. I have wonderful memories of going when I was growing up and of taking my kids when they were young. I can’t think of a time at a park that wasn’t memorable. Fishing with my dad when I was young. Walking the trails and looking at the plants and wildlife on my own and also taking guided tours of the trails to learn more. Going to the Nature Center to learn as much as I could and taking my kids there to learn and interact.

I remember taking the Cub Scouts to the Nature Center to go on a guided trail hike and where given a presentation in the Nature Center, where they got to touch snakes and other things. I remember going with the Cub Scouts to pick up trash and help clean the park for a day.

Taking my kids to the pool the swim. Going canoeing. I remember the whole family going to the park to watch the 4th of July Fireworks by the water. Having picnics and BBQ’s. I got to see an Eagle’s nest and I was in awe. It was so big and beautiful. Being able to see how intricate the nest is and all the work the Eagle puts into it was wonderful.

By going to Metroparks, I learned to appreciate nature and watching my kids grow up learning to love and appreciate nature because they were able to have numerous experiences at the Metroparks. I get a yearly pass every year so my family and myself can continue to enjoy the parks. I have so many great memories and I will continue to make more. Going to the parks is just a yearly tradition. -Kim
