Since my husband passed away in 2013, I am always looking for things to do with my youngest son, who has autism. When the Huron-Clinton Metroparks created the Trail Challenge three years ago, I was delighted. The challenge gave us something to do, gave us a goal and helped us explore parks we had never been to or visit sections of parks we had never seen. In addition, the challenge gets better each year with new prizes and incentives.

Today we finished the 2026 Trail Challenge at Stoney Creek Metropark, which always gives me mixed feelings about it ending but we may go back to the parks that offered two trail challenges.
