This is the first year I participated in the Trail Challenge. My best friend convinced me to join her. We have been squeezing in one to two parks each weekend, and it has been a great excuse for us to spend time together. On one particularly memorable hike at Willow Metropark brought us a new friend. We suspect this dragonfly was at the end of his life. He was in the middle of the hike/bike path, so we originally intended to move him. Once he crawled on her finger, he refused to leave us. Little dragonfly friend got to see the sights and have a nice long hike. On our way back to our car, he gently flew to the ground, off in the grass. We think he was saying goodbye.
