Your Metroparks, Your Stories.

During Covid we were looking for ways to get outdoors and enjoy nature. We discovered that we could park and unload our bikes at Hurok Park in Flat Rock and ride through Oakwoods, Willow, and Lower Huron Metro Parks. It’s about a 35-mile bike ride round trip and usually takes us about 3 hours to complete. This past weekend we combined it with the Volunteer Workday at Willow Metro Park. After 2 hours of removing Autumn Olive from the Huron Riverbank, we continued our bike ride. The up-hills are a challenge but are fun on the way back. Most of the bikes we encounter now are e-bikes, but we are old-school and pedal the whole way.
