Oakwood’s Metropark Nature Center is an absolute gem! I brought my three very young grandchildren here this past Sunday, and it was hands-down one of the best outings we’ve ever had together. The Nature Center itself is wonderful, but the highlight for my grandbabies was definitely the turtles in the wildlife exhibit. They also like the birds outside but did not care for the snakes. Outside, we explored the nature trail, which offered pretty views of both the wetlands and the peaceful forest. The kids loved to run on the trail and pick up the sticks. Walking beneath the tree canopy was a soothing experience for the kids and myself. I’ve always loved the Metroparks, but this visit reminded me just how special they are for family memories. We will definitely be frequenting this park often. Highly recommended for families with young children! -Cynthia
