A longtime friend of mine suggested we do the Trail Challenge this year, and I love a challenge so without really knowing what it would look like, I joined. As it turns out, it was a delightful way to spend time over the summer going to parks I would have never given a second thought to because of distance, meeting up with my besties for some girl time and reinforcing the fact that I have poor spatial awareness and cannot read a map! Some of my favorite parks were the downriver ones that are absolutely gorgeous and they are the ones I would have passed up, living in northern Oakland County.
