Water covers more than 2/3 of the Earth’s surface and wetlands are the place where that water meets the land. These wetlands have many important functions that are essential to wildlife, people, and the quality of water. Students will have the opportunity to assess the characteristics of different types of wetlands in the park with an emphasis on our great lakes coastal marsh. While on a hike, students can search for the variety of plants and animals that make these wetlands their home and how they interact with one another.
