Program Description:

On the banks of the Huron River students will learn about the watershed and how the water is connected to them. Students will use tools to search a tributary of the Huron River to collect macroinvertebrates. With the help of a key and magnifiers, we will look at the adaptations of these animals to help identify them. Using data sheets students will be able to determine how healthy the river water is based on the organisms they find, and the impact humans have on the health of the river. During collection, students will be wading in a shallow slowmoving river tributary.
