Through role play, activities and even songs students will discover Michigan’s place in the fur trade during the French period of Great Lakes History. Characters portraying people involved in the fur trade in Michigan’s history share life as it was during this dynamic time period. Students will experience the people, the furs, the culture and the challenges of life as a voyageur as they participate in the commerce of 1750’s fur trade.
