Program Description:
Many children have never set foot on a working farm or know where their food and fiber come from. In this program students will interact with the animals living on the farm, learn their contributions to society, and gain a deeper appreciation of agriculture. Students will examine the animals face-to-face and discuss how the animal’s structures relate to their functions, both for the animal and for people. Students will learn about the basic needs all animals and the similarities and differences between mammals and birds. Students will also find out what it means to be domesticated and see how parental traits can be observed in their young.
