Program Description:
Bees are a critical but threatened part of natural and agricultural ecosystems. Your students will explore the lives and roles of social bees like the imported western honey bees as well as native solitary bees like leafcutter and mason bees. They will learn about bees’ vital part in producing the crops they eat, and how they can help bees survive and thrive. Students will also try their hands at being a bee as they pollinate flowers and explore the flowers’ structures and functions. This program is available May – October.
