During your 3-hour appointment, your students will experience the wonders of the fall season. During a hike, students will collect leaves to learn how to identify trees, learn why leaves are changing colors, then use those leaves to start a leaf rubbing journal to take home with them. Students will learn about the life cycle of trees and other plants and how seeds are dispersed. Inside the nature center, students will paint those leaf shapes on t-shirts they bring. They’ll learn about pollination, create a food chain, then participate in a food chain as they take turns grinding apples in an apple press to make apple cider. Students will take a break to enjoy a fresh cup of cider and a donut. Finally, students will enjoy a scenic, tractor-drawn wagon ride along one of the nature trails.
