Students will explore the adaptations of various animals and how these traits help them survive in Michigan. By examining and comparing animal skulls, mounts and furs, we will uncover the unique physiological and behavioral adaptations of native Michigan species. In addition, we will hike along the Indian Springs nature trails to observe how those adaptations help animals survive in our terrestrial and aquatic habitats. The hike route may traverse level, composite wood boardwalks and hilly mixed gravel and grass pathways.
