Telling Time Through Trees

Take a walk through and old growth forest and experience the majestic silent guardians of the land at Stony Creek Metropark. We will identify some trees before their leaves drop for the year. Learn about their life cycles, and the history of our relationship with tress. We will sample a tree using an increment borer and read the rings. We will be walking about 2 miles on the Habitat Trail, over varying terrain composed of hilly and gravel covered areas.

Ages 7 and up.

Time: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $5 per child, $5 per adult

Location: Stony Creek Metropark, Nature Center Enterance

Pre-registration is required by September 10 at 4 p.m.
