Osprey Hike
June 19 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Events Navigation
Did you know that Ospreys suffered the same fate of Eagles and other birds of prey because of DDT use in the 1960’s and early 1970’s? Learn about the re-introduction of Ospreys to Stony Creek and other Metroparks beginning in 1999. From Kensington to Stony Creek Metroparks these birds have made a tremendous comeback as impressive as the Eagles. Learn why they are called fish-hawks, who are well adapted to living with people. We will take a hike to see if we can view these amazing birds.
