Invasive Shrub Removal & Plant Identification
September 9 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Volunteers have been working hard to remove invasive shrubs from the trails of Dexter-Huron Metropark, come help out! Invasive shrubs provide poor forage for wildlife and out compete native food sources. We will be cutting down invasive shrubs with loppers, handsaws, and reciprocating saws then treating the cut stumps with herbicide. Everyone is welcome!
Please come dressed for a day outside and off trail (closed-toe shoes, long pants, hat) and bring your work gloves, water, and face mask. Volunteers receive free entry to the park the day they volunteer.
A liability waiver is required for all participants; if under 18, a parent/legal guardian needs to sign as well. A health screening form MUST also be completed on the day you volunteer.
Ages 8 and up.
Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Location: Dexter-Huron Metropark, East Parking Lot
Registration is required by September 8.
