Homeschool: Maple Sugaring
March 3 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
It’s the authentic maple sugaring experience! Indoors, homeschool families will learn about the maple resources in our area and the history of their use. We will then take a guided walk outdoors in the Maple-Beech forest, known as the “Sugar Bush,” to find out how to identify maple trees in winter, see how trees are tapped, taste its sap and watch how the liquid is boiled down to syrup. Complete your visit by tasting a sample of real maple syrup! Bottles of Michigan maple syrup are also available for purchase. Dress for the weather, rain or shine.
