Homeschool: Citizen Science
January 15 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Citizen Science is a way for the public to contribute to scientific research by gathering data collectively from many locations. In this class, we’ll participate in the citizen science project FeederWatch through Cornell University. FeederWatch data helps scientists track movements of winter bird populations and trends in bird distribution and abundance. Homeschoolers will be introduced to some common winter birds and then have a chance to become citizen scientists as we monitor the birds at the nature center feeders and document what is seen.
