Girl Scout National Bird Day: Avian Adventure: Build-a-Bird

January 5 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Back indoors using mounted specimens, investigate the various adaptations that birds rely on to survive in their precise habitat. Based on their observations, scouts will work together to design a bird for a specified habitat then present the evidence for why their bird is best adapted to the given habitat. At the end, meet Ranger, our live red-tailed hawk, as he demonstrates the unique adaptations specific to birds of prey.

Ages 8 and up.

Time: Afternoon Session, 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

Cost: $5 per scout

Location: Kensington Metropark, Nature Center – Map Me

Pre-registration is required by January 2.
