Farmer for a Day
July 17 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
One event on July 17, 2019 at 10:00am
Designed to be educational and fun, this program allows kids the chance to work alongside our farmers taking care of animals. Each program includes a chance to meet all of the farm’s animals. Kids will perform hands-on tasks such as feeding and watering animals, mucking stalls, and hauling hay and grain sacks. They will also get a chance to make a tasty farm food such as ice cream, bread, or cider.
The farm staff is looking forward to sharing the sights, sounds, and smells of a real working farm. The day includes many different activities, most of which are held outside. The following tips are included to ensure everyone has a fun-filled experience at the farm.
- Dress for the weather. We will go outside rain or shine!
- Make sure your camper wears comfortable, durable shoes. No sandals please.
- Wear clothing that can get a little dirty.
- Pack a hearty, well-balanced lunch. Farmers get hungry! However, due to the prevalence of nut allergies, we ask that you not pack any peanut/ tree nut products in your child’s lunch. (We do have a refrigerator and microwave which the children may use.)
Due to the variety of jobs that must be done by the farm staff, there will be no early drop off or late pick up available. Space is limited and days fill up fast! For ages 8-15. Please preregister, (248) 684-8632.
