Late summer and early fall transform the Lake Erie shoreline into one of the region’s most dynamic birding hotspots. As migration builds, warblers move through the trees, shorebirds patrol the mudflats, and raptors ride the lake breezes south.

Join us at the water’s edge for a guided exploration of this seasonal movement. We’ll scan the shoreline and sky, discuss identification strategies, migration timing, and habitat patterns, and take time to observe the subtle behaviors that make fall birding so rewarding. Whether it’s a fleeting flyover or a close look through the scope, each outing offers something different.

Recommended for adults 18 and older, this program welcomes both curious beginners and seasoned birders looking to experience the unique energy of fall migration along Lake Erie.

What to Expect:
This program is entirely outdoors. The entire 120 minutes will be spent on a leisurely walk. The path taken will depend on where the bird activity is on that given day, and may range from a flat gravel path to uneven, rocky ground. Bring your own binoculars if you have them. We do have a limited number to loan if you do not have your own pair.
