JULY INTERPRETIVE EVENTS
“Rosco’s Campfire in the Woods,” Friday, July 10 at 7:30 p.m., Nature Center. Join Rosco for a night of magic, jokes and balloon animals. Enjoy the campfire and hotdog roast after his performance. Fee: $4 per person. Pre-registration is suggested.
“Friday Night Canoe,” Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m., Mt. Vernon Picnic Area. The Voyageurs and the pelt of the beaver affected the course of Michigan history. The great canoes and the men that paddled them left a legacy that influences us to this day. Join a park interpreter and paddle a 34-foot Voyageur canoe to discover a bit of history and Stony Creek Lake life. Fee: $3 per person. Pre-registration and pre-payment required.
“Children’s Appreciation Day - Nature’s Wonders,” Sunday, July 19 from noon - 3 p.m., Nature Center. Celebrate the wonders of nature with games and crafts, and try to guess the date the snapping turtle eggs will hatch! Participants will also get to pet some of our exhibit animals. This fun-filled event is free, no registration required!
