“Early Bird Special Hike,” Saturdays, May 3 & 17 and Wednesdays, May 7, 14 & 21 at 7:30 a.m., Nature Center. Join an interpreter in search of spring migrants during this easy-paced hike while concentrating on seeing spring warblers and other songbirds, followed by coffee, tea and snacks. Donation welcome. Pre-registration required.
“Cadette Girl Scouts – All About Birds,” Saturday, May 3 at 9:30 a.m., Nature Center. Scouts will begin the requirements for this project by completing skill builders #1, 2 and 3, technology #5 and career exploration #4. Scouts are welcome to return during the Bird Migration Festival on Saturday, May 10 to complete the requirements for this badge. Fee: $4 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
“Nature Sign Language for Babies,” Sunday, May 4 at 1 p.m., Nature Center. Children, ages 6 months to 3 years, and their parents will communicate the wonders of nature through sign language. Fee: $2 per person. Pre-registration required.
“Bird Migration Festival,” Saturday, May 10, 7:30 a.m., to 4 p.m., Nature Center. All eyes will be on the sky as bird lovers celebrate the annual return of winged wonders at the “Ninth Annual Bird Migration Festival.” A nominal fee will be charged for some sessions. Pre-registration required.
“Pancake Breakfast and Bird Hike,” Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 a.m., 8:30 am. and 9:30 a.m., Nature Center. A pancake breakfast and bird hike will be held during the Bird Migration Festival by advance registration. There will be a nominal fee for these programs.
“Families in Nature,” Saturday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m., Nature Center. Join an interpreter while observing and learning about animal families during an outdoor adventure among their homes. Fee: $2 per person. Pre-registration required.
“Morning in the Marsh – Voyageur Canoe,” Sunday, May 18 at 9 a.m., Nature Center. Help paddle the 34-foot Voyageur canoe while exploring the marsh and learning about the life of the Voyageur during the fur trade era of the 1700s-1800s. Fee: $3 per person. Pre-registration required.
“Ste. Clair Voyageur Group Meeting,” Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. Adult Voyageur/historical group which meets the third Tuesday of each month and is open to the public. Registration is not required.
