MAY INTERPRETIVE EVENTS
“Webelos Badge Day – Forester, Naturalist and Geology,” Saturday and Sunday, May 3 & 4, Nature Center. Call for fees and times. Webelos can visit the nature center to earn their Geologist, Naturalist and Forester badges. Complete one, two or all three badges in one day! Contact the Nature Center for fees, additional information or to register.
“Brownies - Art to Wear,” Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Nature Center. Design wildlife themed T-shirts, do face-painting, make animal masks, and more! Please bring a white or light-colored T-shirt. Fee: $4 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
“Bear Scouts – Conservation Award,” Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18, Nature Center. Call for times. Scouts will have an opportunity to complete much of the work required for the Conservation Award. Each day “Sharing Your World with Wildlife,” “Weather” and “Soil and Water Conservation” electives will be offered. Scouts can come out for one, two or all three of these programs in one day. Fee: $9 per Scout ($3 per program). Pre-registration required.
“Tots and Tadpoles,” Sunday, May 25 at 1 p.m., Nature Center. Tots will learn all about tadpoles and frogs during this one hour program. Children will paint T-shirts, make a craft, meet some live frogs, learn to talk like the frogs, and more! Fee: $2 per child. Pre-registration required.
“Webelos – Outdoorsman,” Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31 at 6 p.m., Nature Center. Webelos will learn fire safety and knot-tying, take a hike, build a shelter, and cook outdoors during this busy three-hour program. Hot dogs, beverages, snacks and s’mores will be provided for all scouts and adults. Fee: $6 per Scout, $4 per adult. Pre-registration required.

MAY INTERPRETIVE EVENTS
“Junior Girl Scouts – Outdoor Surroundings,”Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m., and 1 p.m., Environmental Discovery Center. Scouts will get a taste of the many different ways to have fun outdoors, from exploring nature and hiking, to protecting the environment. All badge requirements will be met during this program. Fee: $4 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
“Brownies – Science in Action,” Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Environmental Discovery Center. Scouts will join an interpreter on a scavenger hunt, create a colorful butterfly and discover a new way to blow up a balloon while meeting all badge requirements during this program. Fee: $4 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
“Boy Scout Merit Badge – Environmental Science Part I,” Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m., Environmental Discovery Center. Pre-requisites will be e-mailed/mailed at time of registrations for this program. Each session is six hours long. Scouts should dress for outside and bring a sack lunch each day. Fee: $12 per Scout (includes both sessions). Pre-registration required.
