“Toad Day at the Nature Zoo,” Saturday, May 3, noon to 3 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. They’re funny, they’re fascinating. Join an interpreter and celebrate the warty ones through games, crafts and presentations. Pre-registration required.
“Junior Girl Scouts – Wildlife,” Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. All badge requirements will be fulfilled in this indoor/outdoor program. Fee: $2 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
“Just for Homeschoolers – Thanks Mom and Dad,”Thursday, May 8 at 1 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. Raising a baby is no easy job; but nature has come up with a lot of ways to do it. Pre-registration required.
“Junior League of Detroit Second Saturdays,”Saturday May 10 at 1 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. Join the fun and enjoy free crafts, books, snacks and a family program. This month’s theme is “Weather Changes.” Registration is not necessary for groups with fewer than 10 persons.
“Mom’s Day Break,” Sunday, May 11 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. Moms take a leisurely walk on the island with an interpreter while your kids make a nature-based gift for you. There will be free refreshment and goodies for moms all day. Pre-registration required.
“Creature Feature – Honeybees,” Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. You either love them or run from them. Either way, there are a lot of things to learn about honeybees. Pre-registration required.
“Webelos – Naturalist,” Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m., Belle Isle Nature Zoo. All badge requirements will be fulfilled in this indoor/outdoor program. Fee: $2 per Scout. Pre-registration required.
